Our Mission

The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) develops cultural and educational programs to foster co-curricular experiences which will improve our students' experience as we prepare them to be global citizens that will thrive in diverse environments. With this mission guiding us, we:

  • Commemorate and celebrate the experiences and cultures of multicultural students through cultural heritage month programming inside of our larger campus communities.
  • Advise and provide leadership development opportunities for nine cultural and identity-based student organizations.
  • Develop and maintain a safe community guided by the ethics of care for multicultural students while exuding respect of all identities, lived experiences, and education levels with those who are to learn more about the experiences of others.
  • Cultivate and facilitate co-curricular programs focused on cultural awareness.
  • Advocate on behalf of multicultural students and provide support to maximize their voices as they develop while taking ownership of their lived experiences.

Our Vision

The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) will be an integral part of preparing students at 91福利导航 to be culturally competent and able to contribute positively to a multicultural community and global society.  

We envision a University of North Georgia that supports the identities and perspectives of our entire community in a way that promotes and fosters A culture of belonging for all students, faculty, and staff.

Student Learning Development Outcomes

Multicultural Competence

Students will be able to:

  • Acquire an increased knowledge of various cultures through the workshops that MSA provides for the Cultural Competence Co-Curricular Certificate and any other workshops.
  • Demonstrate an increased knowledge of and willingness to engage with various cultures through the Cultural Heritage Months events, activities, and programs.

Academic Excellence

Students will be able to:

  • Seek and participate in both curricular and co-curricular activities that contribute to their learning, and ability to contribute to a diverse and global society.  
  • Readily identify on-campus student support services, academic support, and other services that will bolster their academic development

Leadership Development

Students will be able to:

  • Understand and express the ideals of cultural awareness as they develop their own leadership philosophy
  • Apply the dimensions of cultural awareness through student leadership opportunities.

Student Engagement  

Students will be able to:

  • Develop a sense of belonging within their campus community.
  • Build networks across campus. 
  • Seek opportunities to engage and try new things.
