How to Apply to the Dyslexia Endorsement Program

What is Dyslexia? Why Get the Endorsement?

Dyslexia is a neurobiological disorder impacting an individuals ability to read, write, spell, and speak. Approximately 20 percent of the population is impacted by dyslexia which makes it the most common of all neuro-cognitive disorders (Schaywitz, 2020).

Although dyslexia cannot be cured, there are evidence-based teaching practices that can help individuals be more successful. Through an increased understanding of how the brain learns to read and the impact dyslexia has on typical brain structures, educators can improve their reading instruction for all students.
