The University of North Georgia (91¸£Àûµ¼º½) is committed to providing a safe and healthy campus. To help achieve this goal, the university is offering incentives for students, faculty and staff to get a #stinginyourwing and get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Any current student, faculty or staff member who has been fully vaccinated (two doses of Pfizer or Moderna or one of Johnson & Johnson) – whether on-campus or elsewhere – can submit their name for a drawing to win $1,000 in cash. A total of 50 prizes will be awarded.

"Data demonstrates that the vaccines are preventing severe illness, hospitalization and death, and they are effective against the Delta variant," 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ President Bonita Jacobs said. "Vaccination and participation in this program are voluntary; however, I urge you to get the vaccination as soon as you can to increase our chances for a normal and successful experience for everyone on campus this fall."

In addition, students, faculty and staff who get fully vaccinated at free, on-campus vaccination clinics between Aug. 18 and Oct. 15 will receive $20 applied to their student account or through the employee payroll process. This incentive is only for individuals who have not been fully vaccinated prior to Aug. 18. Individuals must receive their final dose before Oct. 15 to be eligible.

All who are fully vaccinated during this time also are eligible to submit their name for the $1,000 drawing. Individuals must enter their name into the pool to be eligible for the $1,000 drawing; everyone who submits their name will receive a 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ T-shirt.

The first drawing will be Sept. 20 to select 25 winners of $1,000 each. A second drawing of another 25 winners will be Oct. 15. The drawings are retroactive, allowing any member of the 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ community who is fully vaccinated at the time of the drawings to participate.

Selected students will receive $1,000 to their student account, and selected employees will receive a $1,000 stipend through the employee payroll process. Winners will be required to validate their vaccination status upon notification they have been selected.

Only currently enrolled students and employed faculty and staff are eligible for any incentives. Senior administrators such as university cabinet members, associate vice presidents and deans are not eligible.

While 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ does not require vaccines nor face coverings for individuals to be on campus, everyone, regardless of vaccination status, is strongly encouraged to wear a mask when inside campus facilities.
