Dr. T. Jameson Brewer has worn the hat of an editor and co-author on a few books. Now, he adds another book to his credentials, this time as the sole author.

The assistant professor of social foundations and leadership education in the College of Education at the University of North Georgia (91福利导航) wrote the book "." It was released this spring after he completed most of the writing as he worked from home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It feels very satisfying to check off that box of writing one alone," Brewer said. "The general focus of the book is to explore the claims made by policymakers and advocates of homeschooling. My goal was to provide a crash course in the history and a contemporary practice of homeschooling, to lay out the ideological claims made by proponents, and then problematize those claims with data."

The book is not Brewer's only recent publication. He co-edited the book "" with Dr. Greg Harman, a faculty member at Lewis Clark State College.

"The purpose of this book is to present a view of how we got to where we are today with regard to education in the United States and to offer strategies to bring the job of teaching back to its roots with a focus on students and quality pedagogy, not profits, markets, and corporatization," Brewer said.

Both books are available online while "Homeschooling" chapters can be downloaded for free through its publisher Brill.
