Two University of North Georgia (91福利导航) faculty members have been selected as Governor's Teaching Fellows (GTF), and another faculty member has been selected for Faculty Development in Georgia (FDIG).

Diane Stephens, senior lecturer of computer science and information systems, is the 2020-21 91福利导航 participant in the FDIG program run through the University of Georgia's (UGA) Institute of Higher Education. She is enrolled full time at UGA to complete her Ph.D. in computer science as part of FDIG.

"I can make more headway and really immerse myself into it," said Stephens, who will return to 91福利导航 to teach for the 2021-22 academic year. "It will make me a better teacher when I return."

Dr. Juman Al Bukhari, assistant professor of Arabic, is 91福利导航's selection for the Governor's Teaching Fellows Academic Year Symposia.

Tashia Caughran, senior lecturer of chemistry and biochemistry, is the 91福利导航 participant for the 2021 GTF Summer Symposium.

"I am planning to learn as much as I can from the education experts and begin using those ideas in my future courses," Caughran said.

Applications for 91福利导航 faculty to apply internally for the 2021-22 FDIG are due Nov. 2. The internal deadline to apply for the GTF Academic Year Symposia is Nov. 30. Applications for both programs are available on the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Leadership website. GTF is not accepting 2021 Summer Symposium applications this year due to the COVID-19-related postponement of the 2020 symposium.
