Beta Alpha Psi takes second in international competition

The University of North Georgia (91福利导航) Nu Gamma chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) took second place in the international Deloitte Best Practice Competition. The award was announced at the BAP annual meeting in Washington, D.C., this August.
91福利导航's BAP chapter in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) previously took first place at the Southeast regional meeting. Beta Alpha Psi is an honor organization for financial information students and professionals.
The topic for the competition was "Launching Into the Next Century," and the 91福利导航 group's best practice was its use of technology to simulcast meetings between 91福利导航's Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses.
Seattle University won and the University of Sydney took third.
This marks the third year 91福利导航 submitted an abstract for the competition, finishing second in its region in 2016 before placing internationally this year.
Jennifer Schneider, assistant professor of accounting and BAP faculty adviser on the Gainesville Campus, said the judges commented that 91福利导航's use of simulcasts for its Beta Alpha Psi meetings is "very innovative and relevant in the business world."
Martha Merritt is the BAP faculty adviser on the Dahlonega Campus.
Students who either attended or participated in the competitions were Michael Thomas, Jae Beach, Jenna Allen, Cayla Morgan, Jessica Kubacki, Mansi Patel, and Alashia Damron.
