Leadership Oconee honors Cyndee Perdue Moore with award

Leadership Oconee gave Dr. Cyndee Perdue Moore, executive director of University of North Georgia's (91福利导航) Oconee Campus, the James F. McClain Award, which is given to a person who the leadership group determined to be among the strongest leaders.

For the past year, University of North Georgia's (91福利导航) Oconee Campus Executive Director Dr. Cyndee Perdue Moore has participated in Leadership Oconee.

Sponsored by the , is aimed at educating men and women on the needs and issues of the county for the purpose of making a positive change through commitment to community involvement. The program provides future leaders with an opportunity to develop individual and group leadership skills, and commit to a specific project beneficial to the community, according to the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce website.

Moore was given the James F. McClain Award, which is given to a person who the leadership group determined to be among the strongest leaders.  Members of the Leadership Oconee Class vote on the award, which is announced at the graduation ceremony in May.

"It was a wonderful surprise to be acknowledged in this way,” Moore said. “It's nice to be recognized by a group of people you enjoy working with and respect tremendously."

The Chamber established the award and named it after one of Oconee County's most active citizens, James McClain. He was a member of the Chamber for 15 years and served as chair of the Economic Development, Education and Member Services Committees.
