As a senior business management major, Jose Del Rio Lopez has spent three years at the University of North Georgia (91福利导航) learning about business by attending classes, joining a student chapter of a business nonprofit and serving an internship. Now he has the opportunity to learn lessons that will last a lifetime at the Dow Diamond Symposium later this month.

The symposium is held Aug. 21-24 in Midland, Michigan. It is targeted for African American, Latino and American Indian undergraduates majoring in engineering, supply chain management, accounting/finance, and business administration. Participants selected to attend learn about Dow Chemicals, its technology and products, network with company leaders and employees, participate in a case study, and attend business seminars.

"This is a great opportunity for Jose to learn more about a Fortune 50 company," said Katie Simmons, associate dean of students in the Mike Cottrell College of Business. "I know he will be an excellent 91福利导航 representative, and I look forward to hearing his take on the experience when he returns."

"I'm excited about going because [Dow] is the second-largest chemical company in the world," said Del Rio. "We're touring of one of their manufacturing plants, meeting the top leaders and networking with other students."
