Research/Special Interests

Dr. Purvis's research interest revolve using molecular techniques to identify avian diseases in songbirds. Currently the research involves identifying and performing molecular characterizations on Mycoplasma Gallisepticum in songbirds in North Georgia. She currently has undergraduate research students working on this project, if interested please reach out via email. Dr. Purvis is also interested in regenerative farm practices’ impacts on soil quality.
